On the beach in the O.C.

On “The O.C.” they make it look so beautiful. I didn't really believe it, but after spending a week there I know that its not just a television set. Laguna Beach is as good as its portrayed.

I was lucky enough to have spend my time there in the sun at The Montage Resort. And I saw dolphins on the horizon in front of the hotel! I’ve never seen dolphins that close before but apparently it happens all the time on the beachfront.

When I wasn’t on the beach, I was checking out the art galleries, shopping and great restaurants in Laguna.  This little beach town is definitely on my list of beautiful places to visit even if I’m not a TV star.

Ah the luck of the Irish

Heck yeah they're lucky, this week the streets of Dublin really come alive with the five day St. Patrick's Day Festival from today until March 19th. That may not be a pot of gold, but what's at the end of that rainbow still sounds good.

Minus 5 Degrees in the Middle of a Sydney Summer

February in Sydney, Australia. It’s the middle of summer. Bondi Beach is packed with locals and tourists, people are strolling along Darling Harbor in t-shirts and shorts, yet here I was bundled in a parka, gloves, and ear muffs. Was it some scene right out of “The Day After Tomorrow”? No, I am just at Minus 5 – one of the hottest (correction, coldest) bars to hit Sydney.

Spring is in the Air

I don't care what the seasonal calendars say about the official first day of spring. Today feels like Spring. The weather is perfect for just sitting outside and doing nothing. Whenever a perfect day like this occurs it makes me think of my favorite place in the world to spend these days.  Granada, Spain: in their plazas, the courtyards, the albayzin, the Alhambra, the rose gardens, just wandering the streets. Heck, beggars can't be choosers, I'd run off to stay in any city in Spain. Afterall, in my opinion they know how to celebrate a good Spring day.

The Oscars and Hotel Roosevelt

I just got my first taste of L.A. last weekend, and had the pleasure to eat dinner at Dakota's and then hang out at the Tropicana bar by the pool all under the roof of Hotel Roosevelt. AND added bonus for this weekend...it is almost directly across the street from the Kodak Theater, the home of the Oscars that are taking place this Sunday.

The hotel was gorgeous inside and out, with a great crowd and good atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!
