Greece at Ease

Having long harbored the dream to make a sojourn to Greece, it looks like the trip is finally panning out.  A freind and I are planning to sail through the Greek Islands, and I'm happy to say there's plenty of great accommodation options in the Cylades, Crete, and all the other Greek Islands on hotelbook.  Plus, we're set to arrive in Athens for a few days, and I will be using the hotelbook podcast for some cool insider information for the city.  This trip should be something else, I just hope it turns out to be as I envisioned: the ideal mix of history, culture, blue water, sandy beaches, and bright sunshine.  Maybe I'm just staying optimistic in light of my last trip to Asia during the peak of the monsoon season, thanks to the advice of my mis-informed travel agent.  Clearly, it's safe to say that I'll be planning my own travel from here on out, and I'll be glad to stay independent like I can on hotelbook!

Add inspiration to your cohabitation!

There's an interesting article in today's USA Today about 10 great places to rekindle connubial (I had to look it up) passion. Interestingly, three properties from www.hotelbook.com were listed, including the Cheeca Lounge & Spa, Florida; Stein Eriksen Lounge, Utah; and Hotel Providence, Rhode Island. Not that I'm telling anyone what their relationship needs, but a little passion never hurt anyone (especially when sleeping through the night has been replaced by nighttime feedings for the baby). Check out the links, then you, and your relationship, can thank me later.

Declaring Our IndependeNYC

Every Fourth of July, my best friends and I get together to celebrate the holiday and take a break from our daily routines. This summer we are bringing the reunion to New York City. We booked rooms through hotelbook.com at a great hotel called the Excelsior, and we'll be attending the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, with 14,000 fireworks along the east side of Manhattan! The only problem is, our planning ends there. We'll be in the city for five days, but we really haven't scheduled anything to do. We'd appreciate any suggestions...we're hoping to make this summer trip the most memorable one yet!

Art...Music...Florence...That's Amore!

My husband just received his masters in Art History, so to celebrate his success and our upcoming anniversary I booked a trip to Florence for the two of us in June. I found the romantic and charming Executive Hotel on www.hotelbook.com, and purchased tickets to Cezanne in Florence, a show featuring dozens of pieces by his favorite artist held in the gorgeous Palazzo Strozzi and will also display art by Pissamo and Van Gogh. Because music is my husband's second passion, we'll also attend the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the oldest music festival in Italy. As much as I love art and music, I'm also interested in other activities and attractions we can both enjoy during our anniversary trip. Anyone familiar with Florence? If so, any suggestions? Your help will surely make this trip memorable for both of us.
